Healing Is a Right,
Not a Privilege.
Your Loveland voucher is welcome here. The Healing Spot partners with the Loveland Therapy Fund to make somatic, trauma-informed therapy accessible for Black women and Black nonbinary individuals — at a cost that doesn't add to your burden. In-person sessions available in Atlanta, with virtual therapy offered across Georgia, Florida, California, and South Carolina.
About the Program
What Is the Loveland Therapy Fund?
The Loveland Therapy Fund is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to subsidizing mental health care for Black women and Black nonbinary individuals. Founded by artist and activist Rachel Cargle, Loveland exists because access to quality mental health care has historically been a barrier for Black communities.
Through their voucher program, Loveland covers a significant portion of the therapy cost — so you can show up to your healing without financial anxiety hanging over every session.
If you already have a voucher, The Healing Spot is a participating provider. If you haven't applied yet, visit thelovelandfoundation.org to learn about eligibility and apply.
Why It Matters
You deserve support that centers you.
Black women and Black nonbinary individuals carry unique, compounded stressors — systemic racism, intergenerational trauma, identity-based harm, and the weight of showing up in spaces not built for you. The Loveland Fund exists because your healing is worth investing in. And so do I.

This Space Was Made for You
The Healing Spot is an affirming, identity-conscious practice. Here's who I'm specifically equipped to support.
Black Women
Whether you're navigating burnout, relationship wounds, anxiety, or the trauma of moving through the world in a Black woman's body — this is a space where you don't have to explain yourself.
Black Nonbinary Individuals
This practice is fully gender-affirming. Your identity is not a footnote here — it's centered. We work with the whole of who you are.
Trauma Survivors
Childhood trauma, racial trauma, relational trauma — somatic and EMDR modalities go beyond talk therapy to release what the body holds.
Neurodivergent Clients
If you're autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent, this practice meets your sensory and processing needs with intentionality — not just accommodation.
LGBTQIA+ Community
Queer, trans, and nonbinary identities are fully affirmed here. You won't spend your sessions educating your therapist about who you are.
First-Gen & Immigrant Clients
Holding two worlds, navigating acculturation stress, or processing family separation — we can do this work together. Immigration psychological evaluations also available.
Your Therapist
Shae Ivie-Williams, LPC, SEP
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with over a decade of experience in trauma-informed care. I founded The Healing Spot because I believe healing should be possible for everyone — but especially for Black women and Black nonbinary individuals who have been chronically underserved by the mental health system.
My approach is rooted in the wisdom of the body. Through modalities like Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Soundwork, we work together to move beyond the limits of talk therapy — to release trauma that lives in the nervous system, not just in the story.
I offer in-person sessions in Atlanta (Sunday–Wednesday) and virtual sessions across Georgia, Florida, California, and South Carolina.
Common Questions
Loveland Voucher FAQ
Everything you need to know before reaching out.
You don't need to have your voucher in hand before booking a consultation. Our free 15–20 minute consultation is a great place to confirm that we're a good fit, discuss logistics, and answer any questions about the process. If you're still in the process of applying to the Loveland Foundation, reach out — we can talk through timing together.
Vouchers are distributed directly through the Loveland Foundation. Eligibility criteria and application windows are managed by them. Visit thelovelandfoundation.org to check current availability and apply. Please note: I am not involved in the voucher application or approval process.
Voucher sessions are counted per completed session. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so in accordance with our cancellation policy — typically 24 hours' notice — so you don't lose access to that voucher session. We'll go over the specific details during your onboarding.
Yes. The Healing Spot offers virtual sessions across Georgia, Florida, California, and South Carolina. If you're located in one of these states and have a Loveland voucher, we can work together via telehealth. You don't have to be in Atlanta to access this care.
The Healing Spot is rooted in somatic and body-based approaches — meaning we work with your nervous system and lived body experience, not just your thoughts. Depending on your goals and presentation, we may integrate Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Soundwork, or Trauma-Informed Breathwork. We'll always move at your pace, with your consent.
After your 12 voucher sessions, you'll choose from our community pricing tiers based on your current financial reality — no documentation required. The three tiers are $215 (Standard/Full Rate), $180 (Community Rate), and $150 (Access Rate, limited slots). You are the expert on your own financial situation, and we trust you to choose honestly. We'll walk through your options together before you reach session 12 so the transition is smooth. Visit our Community Pricing page for full tier descriptions.
